Football for Peace – The International Event 2017

International Indonesia Generation Foundation (ID GEN)
Uni Papua Football Community is a social football organization established in 2013, which focuses on fostering character and human values for sustainable social change through football.
Uni Papua Football Community is a member of FIFA Football for Hope since 2014 until now. Uni Papua Football Community has developed from Papua to Aceh and 12 provinces in Indonesia as well as several overseas branches; Uni Papua Finland-Helsinki, Uni Papua Philadelphia & Michigan-USA, Uni Papua Japan- Osaka and the representative office of the Uni Papua FC in London-UK.
Uni Papua FC under its parent organization ‘ID Gen’ develops character building through creativity, media, film, social, entrepreneur, coaching and mentoring as well as management/ agency.
Uni Papua Football Community received a full support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the Ministry of Youth and Sports Indonesia since January 2016 and has started a series of preparations for Football for Peace Festival 2017 in collaboration with IDP Director General.
The beginning of the activities of the Uni Papua Football Community together with the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs was the “1st Gathering”, held on January 30, 2017, which was the presentation and the socialization of Uni Papua FC, background, vision and mission of Football for Peace 2017, attended by the representatives of 22 friendly countries/ Embassies and International communities in Jakarta. The goals of Football for Peace are :
- Campaigning Peace through football (1st event in Indonesia)
- Building and maintaining friendship between Indonesia and friendly countries as well as the International communities.
- Commemorating the National Awakening Day (Hari Kebangkitan Nasional Indonesia)
- Promoting humanitarian and social values through football.
Technical meeting was held on March 23, 2017 (Youtube video: Football For Peace 2017) and now there are 30 participating teams consisting of 22 countries. 8 expatriates teams, Indonesian teams represented by football activists, celebrities, former National Team Players, Foreign Ministry Teams and Uni Papua Team.
The participating teams are:
People Republic of China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Colombia, Kuwait, Palestine, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Sudan, Iraq, Morocco, Oman, Republic of Democratic of Timor Leste, The Islamic Republic of Iran. The International communities of Europe and Asia.
In order to commemorate the National Awakening Day as well as campaigning Peace through football which is considered to be the first event held in Indonesia, ID Gen Uni Papua will hold a “7 aside game”, open for public, start on Saturday, May 20, 2017 and the semi final & final on Sunday, May 21, 2017 including The Peace Festival in the form of White Team vs Red Team Exhibition, 11 vs 11, which involves players from all participating teams.
Entry ticket will be in a form of Football for Peace bracelet/ rubber band, which can be obtained at the committee’s desk at the entrance of Soemantri Brojonegoro football field, Kuningan, Central Jakarta.
